Chef Jason Wilson,

Jason’s tenure in the restaurant business spans more than 25 years. His talent for cooking regional food in the Pacific Northwest has earned numerous awards including the James Beard Award Best Chef Northwest, Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chef” and Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 under 40”. His first restaurant, Crush, propelled him as an innovator in modern cooking styles and a leader in fine dining, both locally and nationally.

In January 2017, Jason and El Gaucho Hospitality formed Fire & Vine Hospitality which includes El Gaucho locations in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and Portland, as well as AQUA by El Gaucho in Seattle, as well as Miller’s Guild, The Lakehouse, Civility & Unrest, Eritage Resort in Walla Walla and Aerlume located steps from Pike Place Market.  As culinary director, Jason drives creative development and spearheads future projects with Fire & Vine Hospitality, while continuing his position as chef-owner of Miller’s Guild, The Lakehouse and Civility & Unrest.


Chris LeRoy,
General Manager

As general manager of The Lakehouse Bellevue, Chris LeRoy brings a deep understanding and respect for the restaurant’s farming partners. When he isn’t in the restaurant, he is tending his own farm in Carnation, WA and frequently showcases his herbs and flowers in the restaurant’s bar menus and decor.

Chris has been part of the Fire & Vine Hospitality family since 2006 at El Gaucho Bellevue and the former Seattle-based Troiani. He briefly left to help open and lead the bar at Il Terrazzo Carmine’s Bellevue location but returned when he heard about the new Fire & Vine Hospitality partnership. Since the June 2017 opening, Chris has managed The Lakehouse bar program and was eventually promoted to assistant general manager. In October 2019, he became general manager for both The Lakehouse and Civility & Unrest. He is known for his hard work ethic and his love of numbers. He was a Theoretical Math major at the University of Washington and brings a unique blend of data analysis and dedicated guest service to his role as general manager.


Joel Handshuh,
Executive Chef

Originally from Palm Springs, CA, Joel Handshuh began his culinary career while attending the University of Arizona. Joel spent most of his culinary career in San Diego at the Grand Del Mar working in Amaya and the acclaimed fine-dining restaurant Addison. During his tenure, the Grand Del Mar earned Forbes 5 star ratings for three consecutive years and was recognized as top luxury hotel in the US.

Joel wanted to expand his culinary horizons and moved to Seattle where he joined former French Laundry chef, Mark Bodinet at Copperleaf. Joel was selected as a personal chef to one of Seattle’s most notable high net worth individuals and during the two and a half years in that position, was given exciting challenges and incredible opportunities to travel and develop his skills.

Since joining The Lakehouse as Executive Chef in November 2017, Joel has led his team with passion and a commitment to excellence.


Lauren Scully,
Sous Chef and Pastry Chef

Live your dream and share your passion are some of Lauren Scully’s guiding words from the Holstee Manifesto.  As sous chef and pastry chef at The Lakehouse Bellevue, she says that it makes her proud when guests feel the heart and passion she puts into the preparation of her food.

Lauren graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in business administration and then went on to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris with a Diplôme de Patisserie. Prior to joining The Lakehouse, Lauren was the pastry chef at RN74 and joined The Lakehouse in May 2017 as part of the opening team and loves the creative freedom that the culture and The Lakehouse provides.


Anna Meindersee,
Event Director

As event director at The Lakehouse and Civility & Unrest, Anna Meindersee embraces each opportunity to transform every client’s vision into reality. Anna is a Pacific Northwest native and grew up in Vancouver, WA. She is a graduate of Washington State University’s Hospitality Business Management program and was selected as the WSU delegate to the Young Hoteliers Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland which included top students from around the world.

Upon graduation in 2017, Anna joined Fire & Vine Hospitality as part of the company’s internship program, excelled in her role on the private dining team and was brought on full-time. In January 2020, Anna was promoted to event director for The Lakehouse and Civility & Unrest. Whether planning a special celebration or an important business event, Anna is dedicated to making it exceptional.
